Hi all-

I've spent the last 10 years here in Florida (going to school, getting married, buying a house), and want to move back to Michigan.

I'm no fool though. I won't move back without first securing a job. :-D I'm a teacher (have taught here in Florida for 6 years), so I know it's tough to get a teaching job in Michigan with hundreds of applicants for each job. I've watched a family member be a Michigan teacher and the life it has brought them, and really look forward to a time when I can experience that. Florida teachers are used and abused, chewed up and spit out, waiting for the next crop of bright-eyed bleary eyed graduates to come on down from Michigan. What people don't understand about Florida is....sure, it's a GREAT place to visit, but once you live here and have to get up every morning and go to work...you realize that you don't have time to really enjoy it.

I miss the seasons changing, the cold air, the snow, the warming of spring, and the lazy days of summer on the Michigan lakes where you don't have to worry about Alligators or Sharks eating you! ha!

Anyone else move back from Florida?

I'm currently staying and Michigan, and wouldnt move out of Michigan. Yes we experience all seasons, and poor florida gets a season or two. There is no fun in that, plus I dont see it a family friendly state... its more of a vacation place like las vegas. Sadly you made the wrong move, so come back to Michigan. Where you can enjoy life in all types of ways. Get back with the seasons... once your away from the snow you think you will love it. Although you have to keep in mind you been with snow forever, so I'm sure you'll miss it. ( Michigan is getting hit by tons of snow Nov 6, 2007.) Hope you come back to Michigan, where you belong.
