There's really not much in Niles. It's a small town. My wife (fiancee at the time) and I lived in Griffin Estates Apartments for a few years -- just west of the city along U.S. 12. Not a bad place to live. Not upper class, but not trashy, either.

You actually might be better off looking for a place in South Bend, Indiana, just a few miles across the state line. Much bigger town with lots more housing opportunities.

Good luck.

I currently live in Niles and I would also recommend looking for an apartment in South Bend/Mishawaka area. Many, many more options for housing and dining/entertainment. There really isn't much in Niles. Rent is similair for apartments in Niles and Mishawaka. For a 3 bedroom in a decent complex you are probably looking close to $1000/month if not more. Mishawaka is where the majority of chain stores and restaurants are and you are only 10 - 15 minutes from Niles if you need to come here.
