I am taking an informal survey to gather words that evoke the UMich experience - the things that come to mind when you remember your days as a student. Landmarks, events and the like.

Thank you! Hope you enjoyed going down memory lane!

Although not a UofM grad, I spent a few weekends there with a friend (I went to CMU). I remember Bimbo's the piano bar, the craziness of the student section at football games, the excitement and anticipation of getting a ticket to an Ohio vs. Michigan game, attending fraternity parties along Washtenaw Avenue and catching to bus to get back to Mt. Pleasant at the Union.

Yeah, they don't play too often. The first round of the NCAA b-ball tournament this year was the first in a while.

I must say, quite an exciting game.

Playing Aerobie in the arb. Frisbee in the Law quad. The Full Moon. Bird of Paradise (gone now) and Good Time Charlies (where I met my wife). Nichols arcade (and finding people camping on top of it). Roof Hopping. Steam tunnels. Finding a date at the (B)Reading room at the law library. VC wine selecton. Tossing a bean bag chair into the law quad on a nice day and setting up a stero on my balcony for a pleasant way to study. Farmers market and Zingermans Deli. The blue front party store. Football games (esp. Ohio State, MSU, or Iowa). Getting lost in the old Student Union (while trying to get to my office). The mud bowl. The big painted rock over by what used to be ZTA. Stupid student protests where they protested the wrong guy. Studying at the Grad. Dinner in the law quad (good food and we usually brought wine). McDonalds palace. Taunting dumb jocks at Dooleys. Wazoo. The professor who jumped off the bell tower. Thursday night was party night (but then so were Friday and Saturday). Sunday was laundry day and sometimes that turned into a party. The rest of the week you worked your a$$ off, except for a few games of Raquetball each day. Brown Jug (until we were not allowed there anymore). Looking at the goofy (and frequently sleezy) merchandise at Middle Earth. Decorating the President's house. I think the year before I went to U-M was the last time in my life that I ever got a full night of sleep. Mrs. Peabodys cookies. Be Bim Bop at the Korean place on South U. The deep dish pizza joint in the basement along South U. The art museum. Idiots with their heads in the clouds wantering out into the streets without looking for cars. Green Bikes. Just walking aruond campus was pleasant.
