Hi my fellow Michiganders. Well the title does say it all, What state is good to move to. Well let me give you some information to this thread on the Michigan's forums. I'm going to a community college in Dearborn, Michigan for an Associates Degree for Graphic Design/ Web Design. I want to be employed outside of Michigan, but I hate to move out of Michigan only because of my family and I hardly have so much friends but back to my point here.

So, can you guys give me good places to think of and great strong reasons. I have thought about Virginia and California, but I kind have second thoughts about California. Also point out what are the it jobs in each state you suggest to go and live in. Like an it job would be like Graphic Design ect...

Right off the top Cali and FL should be crossed off. Web design may be a little behind the 8-ball--but if there are any opportunities the first best look is for you to go it on your own. Try starting your own biz by creating a portfolio and offering to design sites for some local small business. It is going to be similiar where ever you go I think.
The unemployed have many tech experienced folks and they are all looking at doing self-employment for the most part.

The masses tend to drift towards the Raleigh Durham area of NC, houston or Dallas Texas, Franklin Tennessee, Arkansas or some to Oaklahoma city. It is rumoured that you will find more job openings in those places. My advice is to move to michigan. It is nice here. If you do not like michigan, move to North Dakota for a while, then you will be really happy when you come back

I don't really know the graphic arts/web design field, but it seems like there should be that type of work in most metro areas?

Some recommendations based on economy and quality of life:

IN
KY
NC
MT
ID
CO
If you can deal with Texans:
TX and NM

If you are looking for metro areas, Indianapolis, Lexington, Asheville, Missoula, Kalispell, Boise, Colorado Springs, Santa Fe, San Antonio.

A lot of these places have problems with high priced housing, so be ready to live in a small apartment for a while.

Can you work online and live where you are now? Michigan is an incredible bargain to those who can find a way to make a living online. However, its not bad to want to see other places and go somewhere else.

You make me laugh on trying to convince me to move to Michigan. If you have read my forum hence of the colleges name and town. I love Michigan, but I'm kind of wondering if my kind of career will employ me after college here in Michigan.

I can work online but I per for to show my talents to a graphic firm. If you think that the states you listed has high priced housing try California and I think in Novi Michigan witch has some what high priced housing. What state is Kalispell town located at?

I pefor to find a warm place so I think Texas would be fine. Is New Mexico part of Mexico the country?
