The data you are looking at is 6 to 14 years old. Before making trollish comments and observations, make sure you are looking at the real picture.

So far you have been making cutting comments toward the midwest in general. Quit lurking around making insinuating comments or "observations" and just stay wherever you are right now. So you don't like Michigan, that is clear from your other threads and posts. Simple solution, quit acting like a Troll and post in the boards you DO like.

Good cover, changing your wording after I post my comments. First time around you are questioning the "people of Michigan" and stating the figures as current. Welcome to my ignore list, reserved for Trolls.

I did not want to insult your feelings, but facts are facts, i just trying to find out reason behind this not bashing Michigan, if you think data is old, then explain why michigan had most rapes for years data is present for?

Michigan did NOT have the highest number of rapes per 100,000 people. It generally IS in the top 10, but rarely tops the list. Looking at the numbers alone does not give the whole picture. Michigan has the 8th largest population, of course the numbers of incidents will be higher than many other states, but what you need to look at is the RATE of those stats. Hence the use of "incidents per 100,000 people" that is commonly used by institutions like the FBI, Census department, and Law enforcement in general.

You are not insulting my feelings at all. Where did I say you are insulting? I said you were trying to be a Troll, and I still stand by that statement. People don't change much in 6 to 10 years MAY be somewhat true, but that is trying to hold individual traits against an entire State. State statistics CAN and do change over that timeframe.

Just look at that map, it's a joke. I would say there's a severe lack of reporting by certain counties, states, etc. Look at Cook County Illinois, it's in the lowest data category......Right!

Women are more empowered in Michigan to take a stand so rape is reported and prosecuted more. Reminds me of the study about crime going up in a major American city. Turns out they increased the number of police officers and cruisers by a third and were naturally catching more criminals.

All this and 6 months of winter. Imagin what it would be like if it were summer all the time?
Well with all the people leaving the state I bet the rapes will decline.
the job sure have.
Hey maybe grandhome can tax rape? That would pull the state out of is current problems. I am on the phone now to talk to Lansing.

Why does the whole map go dark in 2001? Why do you single out Michigan?

Actually, based on your own map, they change dramatically YEAR by YEAR. Any form of "facts" that change that drastically from one year to the next are highly suspect. Probably has more to do with Michigan rape reporting laws than actual rapes.

Moving on.
