Bought some property, house and over 1 acre of land, just north of Homestead, Florida. The real estate prices in this area are very very low now and have great potential recovery and the time to buy is now! You want to own real assets now and beaten down real estate is a great buy now! I already have plenty of gold and silver but needed some real estate also. It is not far from the Keys and Miami Beach! This is not a bad place at all.
I plan to buy more real estate or small business.

So what is this, some type of propaganda? Are you a realtor?

I assume you bought in the Redlands. How is crime in that area considering it is so desolate and dark at night.

The property was burglarized three times in the past 10 years. This was before the alarm was installed. Crime is a problem BUT I have Abloy protect elite deadbolts on doors and my neighbor has lots of pitbulls. I have very good neighbors but lots of space between houses. I may get some pitbulls too.

My worry is the hurricane risk and is the only fly in the ointment.

We visited Miami beach in June and it is pricey but NICE. We had supper at a restaurant on Ocean Drive and the bill for three people was about $160. If you have a good job or lots of money Miami Beach is really nice area. There are a lot of hotels on Ocean Drive. Bring your wallet though! This area is not as expensive as Miami Beach though. My neighbor tells me real estate prices in the Keys was very cheap after hurricane Andrew and wish I had bought some then, but I was too young.

I am thinking of buying some property to rent for some income. I find real estate prices in south Florida very attractive and should rebound. This is just my opinion.

It is illegal to own pitbulls in Miami-Dade County...
