I'm a big fan of this forum so I decided to jump right in and pick the brains of Floridians living in the Miami-Dade area.

In the process of moving to and working at Homestead ARB, FL. Does anyone have any suggestions on rental property and ideal locations in and around Homestead for a family of four (my son will be starting Kinder this fall)? Kendal, Coral Gables, Pinecrest etc all look desireable....

I can probably afford up to 2K a month. Any suggestions or tips are appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

/r

Try looking in Palmetto Bay, The Falls area you should be able to get a townhouse in your budget maybe even a small house for 2k. Pinecrest is a great area, you should be able to get an apartment in your price range. Country Walk, The Crossings, Lakes by The Bay are developments that you might also want to look at.

I was in the Miami-Dade forum back in Decemberish and a person posted a message with a google maps link that color coded all of the Miami-Dade neighborhoods; colors represented the "good, bad and ugly". It was very impressive and am currently looking for it.

Thoughts?

medley should be red though. i'm not joking when i say i had a coworker when i worked out there who turned a corner and drove over the legs of a body dumped in the road. they used to find bodies dumped by the warehouses out there all the time. def not a good area but hey it was a job!

Well,
I made it to Miami and found a 4/2 in west kendall...now I just need to buy a car and pack furniture in the house. Thanks for the support. Pinecrest was #2 on my list, but i couldn't afford it.
