WOW, THIS IS MORE LIKE IT....Nice to read pleasant stuff for a change about Miami... I visted many years ago and loved it for the weather, people, food, you name it I loved it...

Had anyone been to the Palmetto Bay areas and Pinecrest areas? if so whats your opinion good and bad about them?

Great neighborhoods, great schools, though pricey to buy a house there.

Only a few on US-1. This used to be rural and upper middle class suburbs. In the 80's the drug dealers, lawyers and other undesirables with tons of cash moved in. The main shopping center is sunniland (the former name of the rural area) and the strip shopping centers are on the east side of US-1.

Yes, though almost all of the businesses are located on US1.

i thought Old Cutler road was cheaper though? and not as nice? If everyone had a choice would you prefer to live in pinecrest or Palmetto?

I would prefer Pinecrest as I find it to be leafier on the whole. Though you can't go wrong either way.

And the houses off of Old Cutler in those areas are actually the more expensive ones if anything.

The wealthier areas have more trees. Poor and low class areas have few trees and iron bars. Drive through little Havana or Hialeah for the ultimate in low-class Latin American taste. Westchester started out as a Jewish area but became Latin American. I grew up watching it go from tree filled Coral Gables style to the current treeless ugly area it is today.
