I won't knock you for your choice of car, to each their own, but please be prepared for high maintenance costs and the hassle of your prized possession sitting at the dealer for repairs (even under warranty that gets old really quickly).
A lot of these types of vehicles are lusted after here in the states but you can read countless horror stories about the reliability of Mercedes, BMW, VW Etc. that people are forced to deal with after spending a great deal of income on these “luxury” rides.
I sincerely hope you are one of the lucky ones and do not have a ton of issues with your new Mercedes.
I worked for a law firm that represented Mercedes in Lemon Law litigation...the types of complaints that came in plus the costs of repairs, and volume of problems with Benzes convinced me never to get this car.
The worst were 4 lawsuits I was assigned to work on where the owners were taking the car into the dealer for repairs and all these vehicles had less than 50k miles. this should simply not be tolerated for a new car and I will never finance, lease or buy a MB because of it.

Yeah but as a law firm representing MBNA you only heard about the horror stories, never the good ones...
i own an 84 benz 300 turbo diesel with 3 million miles on the odomitor and it's still runs like a top and it stll gets great mpg's. only problem it gave me was a new clutch. but damm the car will out live me. i also own a gl350 i'll probily junk that once the warrany is up seeings how they redesighned the engines there no more chain it's a timing belt forget replacing that then theres the dpf filter that needs to be checked and inspected at xxx amount of miles and replaced.
and intend to own some C-140 CL-Klasse coupe at some point, as well as a 2013 CL 550 at some point.
I love the cars, they're basically unstoppable, however the 126 is my clear favorite. Mercedes basically introduced or standardized every major safety feature over the last 50 years, and many of their models have also claimed the title of the current "fastest sedan in the world", from the W116 6.9 SEL, to the 560 SEL, to the original E55 W211 (which was surpassed by the CTS-V). Safe, fast, luxurious and reliable. How can you go wrong?
Yeah, my 1985 W126 SWB and current 1988 W126 LWB are tank-like.
Yes, starting with the 1992 W140 S-Class design, these cars were still build like tanks, but were quite complex (especially for their time) and are still very costly to maintain. My uncle has a 1992 300SE and it has been a super car and I love it, but things like the evaporator core are very $$$$ to replace and its a common problem on these.
This is not my car, but here is a W126 that looks alot like mine...
Absolutely beautiful. If they made that exact same car today with no updates, I'd still pay out the ass for it and it would use it as my daily driver. The worst part about these cars is the newest you can find one is 22 years old! The euro lights and bumpers really did complete that car.
I lemon lawed 2 (E500, GL320). GL was towed off the side of the road twice before making the first payment! The 3rd new Benz for me was another GL320 that was 67k new and I couldn't get 35k for it after 20 month, 49k miles. Everyone (MB dealer included) didn't want it out of warranty (50k miles).
I have had better luck with Audi and BMW
You made a mistake and bought a mercedes built by americans for stupid americans. The SUVs are only built in the US, and the only idiots that buy them are NA residents. You asked for a stupid vehicle, you got one in the form of an MB SUV with shared components from Chrysler. Anytime I see an MB SUV, I try to imagine how stupid the driver is for paying that amount of money for that POS.
