I got passed on the freeway last night by a MB SLS who then took the next exit, WOW, that is the best sounding car I've ever heard!!! Just hearing it, now I know why Jeremy Clarkson loves the car, great job AMG!
My C63 same engine (lesser power) sounds amazing, but when I drove the SLS on track for 4 hrs, I smiled so hard my ears hurt.
Its amazing, its mind blowing, its AMG magic, who I think spend as much money and research into exhaust sound as much BMW spends on handling. lol.
The 6.2 motor just rumbles in all the 63 versions and I love it! What's the major differences between your C version and the SLS version of the motor? Yours is in the 450 hp range and the SLS is in the 590 range, all motor internals or also lots of computer tuning, but its a na motor... Have you owned a SLK 55? I'm probably going to be purchasing an '06-07 SLK 55 next summer. I've heard the 5.4 motor is great

I have the M156 motor shared by the SLS and the C63. Since everything else is bi-turbo now.
My C63 is the P31 package which gets SLS internals and bumps power to 481 HP. I understand it's intentionally detuned from factory so as to not kill the E63 S63 etc.
I have driven a SLK55 on AMG driving academy - track - 2 hrs and that li'l thing is a hoot to drive.

So the C63 isn't getting the 5.4 twin turbo V8 like all the other 63 models along with AWD? I see the engine displacements are getting smaller and the models names are named after the liter output, but they aren't gonna go backwards and name it the 55's again. Did you see they are making a C63 507 now? When did they make a C coupe? How is your C63 compared to the SLK55 you drove? I've been basically cross shopping the two online for a bit, but the '08 C63 are 5-10k more then a '06 SLK55. I don't need backseats and don't need to drive either in the winter (snow) I just thought I'd ask an opinion from someone who's driven both.
I had a 2001 CLK55 which was a hoot to drive, and with an Eisenmann exhaust it sounded downright evil, that thing could liquefy the tires from a stop light with the slightest mash of the throttle. This fall I picked up a C63 with the P30 AMG Performance Package, its in a whole different league then my CLK was. The 63 screams, barks, burbles, and emits sounds that I cant even describe, Im pretty sure it scares the blacktop im driving it on. Its such a neutral car that it inspires you to drive it harder, probably way past most peoples talent. I feel so connected to the road in it that pushing it seems effortless. I chose an Akropovic exhaust this time and its so pleasing to listen to that the radio hardly ever gets turned on. The old 55AMG motors are great, lots of power and torque but theres no comparison to the 63. AMG definitely has their finger on the pulse of fun to drive cars.
