I think it really depends on how committed you are to this car.

On the one hand, the only way to get your money out of these repairs is to keep the car a long time and put on a lot more miles.

This also means you will need to be ready for more repairs, some potentially costly. You said it is burning some oil. If a piston ring fails tomorrow, are you prepared to pay for an engine replacement or rebuild? Or, since it is higher mileage and will be prone to needing more repairs, are you ok with the car being down more frequently when it is in need for repairs?

I own an older, high mileage car myself although it isn’t a daily driver. It’s a 1988 Pontiac Fiero with 160K on the clock. I have owned it for the last 13 years. I really like the car, and decided I would just keep it going instead of looking for a lower mileage example I am unfamiliar with. It has taken a lot of money in repairs. Some done by a trusted shop, many by myself. Still, I like the car and it has been well worth it IMO. I also have spent less in 13 years on repairs than what I have lost in depreciation on some new cars I have owned.

I would tend to keep it since you like it. None of the issues you state are really life threatening to the car. They just need to be addressed and you will be back on the road. However, if the thought of less frequent repairs sounds good, you might want to consider a newer car too. Maybe even a newer Miata. Good luck!
