COL is certainly an issue here, but are people with only social security income living well anywhere?

Are these people supposed to move to the woods? The guy at the non profit talks about scarcity....build more housing.

Sure. Just don't do it near me. (sarcasm)

But seriously. NIMBYism is strong. Every single new development is fought tooth and nail by residents in my neck of the woods. If one gets approved, all you hear is "now i need to move"

But of course none ever do.

Maybe this will happen in Boston and companies will have no choice but to go elsewhere

Wut, almost a mill for a new construction TH in Waltham. And it's not even the nice part of Waltham, it's right off of Moody Street. They did put 400k down at least.

Feels like the only winning move right now is not to play.

Wow, almost $1M and you don't even get your own little fenced in grassy/greenspace area....only hard scaped patio space. Also, when you're making dinner at your center island you can look straight into your neighbor's window. Such a deal for such a great location!
One positive is HOA fee isn't that bad at $200/month.....but there's gotta be little to no landscaping since there's no greenspace so it's actually kinda high if all it covers is trash and plowing.

Says it includes master insurance. That's probably most of the fee. But still yeah.

I love it actually! I know it's by Moody, but overall location to Boston/Cambridge is great. Super spacious, you get 3bd, and same # of bathrooms,,, it's a new construction. You are close to public transportation,,, you are walking distance to the Charles and the trail,,, You could walk to get your groceries,,, vibrant area during summer and tons of good food. you are also basically in Newtown for activities. Waltham is amazing if you got kids,,, parks everywhere. And the owner basically has less than $600k mortgage (less than $4000k/month). Good for them for having $400k in their savings.
