Yeah. Many residents there are double IT or IT + biotech though.
$10K is reasonable for such people.

This one is a little high, but I suppose some software engineers want to buy it to host their extended family.
Oh I know that new builds here in town are $1 million plus and never expect to see one under that ever again.

When this builder bought the lot almost a year ago at $200K over what the first flipper paid and didn't break ground for months, I felt it would be a hard sell with rising interest rates. It's in a neighborhood of 1970's splits that would all sell for under $800K like the house across the street from it did last year.

I cant imagine paying 10k a month for that. Look how close you are to your neighbors.

The lot size is truly too small. This is not Boston and I would expect at least one acre for such a mcmansion.

it's ridiculous...but it's happening. Maybe developers think if they build a really nice house people will see past everything else...and still pay 2M for it.

this is the streetview:

that house just doesn't fit in

You greatly overestimate how much "IT + biotech" make. Now... if you added 800k in equity and they also were willing to live paycheck to paycheck... then maybe.

They should have left the split level ranch that was there and just gut renovated it. Someone would still overpay for it to be in Burlington but at least it would fit with the character of the existing neighborhood. You never want to have the largest, most expensive house in the neighborhood, bad for re sale.
