Andrea Campbell did run for mayor on a platform of defunding the police, she won a landslide victory to become Attorney General.

The concept isn't so much defunding police but reallocating assets. We can still support police without a militarization of them. My grandfather was a officer back in the day when bearcats weren't a thing and roman legion like tactics. Policing is not a one way or what type. I rather see police walking the beats and talking to people rather than sitting at hq waiting. Some departments get it and some don't. In Mass police have the quinn bill which is a huge help. Down south on the other hand I've seen typing being the only requirement to be a cop.

The state stopped funding the Quinn Bill a decade ago. Some but not all municipalities have picked up that funding. They are not required to do so. Which militarization specifically relates to the Defund Movement? What do you know about being a cop or law enforcement officer in today's world? In cities like Boston, few patrol officers are "sitting in HQ" so I don't really think you're seeing that in most places. Do you hang around Police HQ much? I mean, I find it odd that people have conclusive opinions about thing like police when they clearly don't know what they're talking about. Roman Legion....what? You do realize that cops would like to go home to their families at the end of the day, right? What makes you think you know what tactics are or are not being used in most cases or what are needed, for that matter? And I'm referring to everyday operational practices here, not isolated incidents you see on TV.
