Go ahead and shut down the schools, the kids will just find somewhere else to congregate. Shut down the restaurants, and the adults will find somewhere else to eat dinner together. Shut it all down and people will skirt the rules and find ways to get together.

Anyone who seriously thinks society can responsibly behave this thing back under control has been isolated so long they forgot how much our society repeatedly fails and disappoints.
This is true. We shut down the schools last spring and most employees worked at home and it never completely went away.

Agreed. But still, for many who do care things somehow went from "flatten the curve" so we can slowly and safely re-open to any increase at all even if predicted is the beginning of the end.

What goes on in RI usually soon follows in MA. And vice versa.

The numbers in RI for the past couple days are essentially the equivalent of 3k new cases per day in MA.

Anyone living in MA should pay close attention. The virus doesn't care about the border.

Yep! Not a school, but an activity my kids do. Gonna be a long winter. Kind of wondering why other sports weren't cancelled as well...soccer, football...

While I have romantic memories of drinking cheap beer in a cold parking lot, the idea of sharing a locker room and ice with 9-20+ men of questionable character and judgement has never seemed like a terribly good idea during a pandemic. My team hung it up in early March and hasn’t touched the ice since.

I think this might be a permanent retirement for a few of the older guys on the fringe.
