We have lived in the Maynard for 9 years and are looking at a house in Harvard Acres in Stow. I know nothing about this area. Can anyone give feedback on this track and living in Stow in general. We were fine with the commute from Maynard to both Cambridge and Boston. I am assuming it will add about 15 minutes to that.
Also, does anyone have experience with commuting from Harvard, MA to Harvard Square and Symphony Hall area of Boston?
Thanks for any feedback. The market is tough right now! NOTHING for sale.
Stow is a lovely town. I live in a town that borders Stow. It is one of the few towns in Massachusetts with true agriculture. There is a small lake beach for residents to sun in the warm months. I've never heard of the Harvard Acres area.
Harvard MA would add at least 30 minutes to your present commute and would be a completely bad commute to Symphony Hall area.
Stow would be better. You are a little closer to the West Concord train stop.
I think you would be better off staying in Maynard or looking in nicer parts of Framingham and Marlborough to use Worcester line.
I love the Harvard Acres area, if you can buy a house there you will be glad. People are very friendly and it is a tight knit community. I love Stow and only have positives to say except trash removal is not included in high taxes. PM me for more info....
Thank you both for your reply. The main thing is for us to have reasonable access to the South Acton Commuter Rail stop for the express to Porter Sq. So, Stow, Maynard and Acton are our first choices.
Thanks again for feedback.
Cheers!
