Lines can curve. A 50 mile radius with Portland as its center would do nicely. That does include the present state house in Augusta.

Because people live there, work there, and raise children there.

Because the natural resources have been 'protected' for the past 200 years without government interference.

I'm just not that talented. But I bet RESTORE wouldn't mind the last map.

Isn't THAT the problem?

The people I know and have met since I've lived here are all pretty independant folks. Self managed and self absorbed. The words 'getting by' are used a lot. No one I know is prospering except a few retired folks that have steady incomes. I think if I asked, most of them would say ANYTHING that gets people into this state to spend their money would be a good thing. More businesses and more places to put more people would be my first choice. With ALL of the areas of Maine accessible for recreation, wildlife and deep woods living. I love a good park and a good tree as much as the next person but I like a good human even better. A bad human to me is one that takes too much, tells others how to be, offers empty promises and oppresses one's spirit of independance.

Ok, enough of the Saturday morning philosphizing.

so is this protest more of an anti-government thing? what does people living, working, and playing there have to do with a park? I'm really curious - not trying to be difficult

thanks!

Because these park advocates want to drive everyone out of their homes to create said park. And these people that want the park, are operating out of MA, not even from ME.
