RMoore007,
What do you drive? If your vehicle is more than 3 years old you might just as well replace all your brake lines under the vehicle right now. Auto mechanics have had an economic boom ever since the State went to calcium chloride on the roads. It eats brake lines. Better to put in the $250 worth of stainless brake lines now than to wreck your vehicle when the brakes fail.
One more surprise; Don't buy the blue windshield washer fluid. Get Rainex. It makes it so easy to scrape any ice off that you can often just use your wipers.
Don't buy RAINEX! It leaves a greasy silicone deposit on your
windshield that NEVER wears off! You need perfect windshield wipers to take the rain off a windshield treated with Rainex. You will have to change your wiper blades twice as often if you use it! Stay away from it at all costs!

I had the same thing happen to my glass, the Rainex made a mess. I was easier to get the frosty snow off the glass, but it did leave a smeary film behind.
My solution was to clean the glass with 90% alcohol, and the wiper blades as well!
Gees, I've had unbelievably great luck with Rainex. I used the application stuff though, not something in my liquid wiper fluid area. Is there more than one product available now?

I hate the stuff. It makes far more of a mess than it's worth. If your windshield is curved you'll be lucky if you can even see out of it. We were in New York last summer and bought some bug remover that happened to be a Rainex product. I had no idea they put the silicone crap in that too! I literally had to pull off the road from not being able to clear the window after using that stuff. Then I had to stop and buy new wiper blades to continue the trip. If that isn't bad enough the crap attracts dust too. You will get a film of dust clinging to the windshield and when you go to wash it off you're wearing out your new blades. I washed the back window of the truck with it and could not see out of it the rest of the trip as the dust just stuck to the window. I'll try the alcohol to get rid of it! I think it should be taken off the market!
I have used Rainex since they first brought it out for airplanes about 25 years ago. The results reported above can result if the directions are not followed. Rainex is great stuff. I seldom need to use my wipers above 30 MPH. The rain blows off the windshield.
Don't get too excited and run out and replace your brake linings. I've been driving my 2000 Camry for over 4 years now and never had a problem. Original brakes.

Facta; Non Verba.
Results may vary...I won't use it and I'm surprised up there on all those dirt roads you travel NMLM you haven't had the dust problem. For the record there are 261,000 pages on Google on how to remove Rainx from windows. Nice
Geez the storm right before Thanksgiving knocked my power out for a day and a half. I live near Belfast. I sure hope I don't have that happen again. That sucked.
