Does anyone own one for use on their property? And if so, are they more useful to you as a tool or more useful as a recreation device?
I will probably look for one of these or one of these . Maybe even a four seater . And of course I'm looking for a human size UV, not the flea circus type shown here. I've researched a little and gone to a couple dealerships. I guess you get what you pay for like everything else. And I noticed there are way too many farkles (accessories) to spend on these vehicles after you purchase one. I already have a gps. Not that I will get lost on my property or anything. It will just look good on the dash.

My wife is looking at one where she can use hand controls. She's looking at the Kawasaki Mule, but there is no dealer near here. The Yamaha is well engineered, but uncomfortable. We are also just starting out search. She has a Polaris ATP, but needs assistance to get on and off.

My father has a Kawasaki Mule, he loves it for up in the Sierra Nevadas.

We have looked at them, and considered getting something.

Our neighbor to the South has a couple four-wheeled ATVs. He has taken them onto my property a few times, and I have gone out to help him get them going again. They do get stuck a lot.

And a fellow a couple properties to our North comes down with his father to hunt bear on the land that I manage. He is around 50 and his father appears to be around 80. They both ride four-wheel ATVs. I give them permission to take bear, but I have told them that when they get stuck, I do not wish to haul them out again. Their ATVs have winches, so it appears that they have been able to get themselves out each time.

I might consider a six-wheel ATV, if it had a winch.

When we get a bit more land than I have right now, this is the beasty I am going to get. Not the fastest. Not the most comfy ride, but I have never seen one stuck either. There is a dealer up this direction and they are a blast. Ontario Drive and Gear - Recreational Vehicles

You can get them with tracks and an enclosed cab as well. Look at their "applications" tab on the website along with the vehicles.

Nice.

I would think that an 8x8 would be truly hard to get stuck. Very nice!

Thanks. Those are really cool. We have the Black Stream which runs through the back of our property where we have 40 acres of wetlands. That would do nicley there. Along with a Mule too. Now I'm getting excited to get there and start to shop for them. I'll definately take a ride to Ellsworth, along with Newport to check out the local dealers.

I have a friend who takes old Subaru 4x4 cars, strips the body off them, attaches a winch to the front and puts a box on the rear. The home made tractors are not nearly as pretty as the four or six wheelers but go anywhere the the others will go and cost him less than $500.00 to bulid. He uses them on his hilly land to help haul out full length trees for firewood.

I have a friend that did the same with an old Bronco, he uses it to haul wood from the back of his property out to the house area.
