Default Wonderful food, honest people

We've been there - the food is WONDERFUL. Cured meats, sausages, etc., are of the very best quality, and the people are lovely and down to earth. Unlike so many who come to Maine and are gone in a few years, the husband and wife who run this business seem to have found the place where they fit in perfectly. They're hard workers, good neighbors, and make a product of the highest quality. There's also an Amish country store nearby that you should definitely visit. The "Buggy Whip Cheese" is the most delicious cheese I've had for years, everything is priced much better than any of the big grocery stores, and the service is friendly, caring, and invariably polite. Don't curse or use foul language in the store, or you will be gently and courteously asked to refrain (as a loud, rude young couple were while we were there). I grew up in Pennsylvania Dutch country, and I'm so heartened to see the strong beginnings of an Amish settlement in Maine. You'll be glad they came!
