I have sent out my resume for over 50 different jobs in Maine! I am willing to cut my current salary in half just to get there BUT to date have only received 2 responses! HELP! I'm in a catch 22 - can't move to Maine without a job AND can't seem to get a job unless I already live there! I even applied at Irving Oil Company AND no luck! Please put on your thinking caps and help me with a solution. I've got to get to Maine!

Default Microdyne is hiring

microdyne ad (http://bangornews.com/mainejobhunter/jobseeker/search.cfm?page=position-description&JobID=271087 - broken link) in Bangor Daily News I applied on line and got a call back in less than a day. They had a class starting this coming week, which I could not make but they want me to call when I am closer to arriving in ME

Thanks Starwalker. Is this the place that I saw a thread about working at Microdyne doing something like customer service?

yes, customer service, phone sales and what I applied for...l tech support... high turnover as one would expect and very young "workforce" apparently... but I expect that from the location and the type of work.

Would not be something for long term, but would pay bills while one looked farther...

Cianbro in Belfast is still looking for people to train as Pipe Welders and Structural Steel Welders. They pay you while you're training and put you to work.
Welcome to Cianbro

BIW needs designers.....They will train. Great opportunity to learn a specialty and develope a career path. Its sitting at a desk but from the people know..its a nice atmosphere with good working conditions.

I wanted to do the same thing, but can't. I'm in the NY / NJ area doing blue collar work and can't take the pay cut, plus I'd walk away from a pension down the road.

My plans are to buy up there this year, and as time goes on and the money keeps coming in, do what I have to do to make it nice.

I'd post a photo, but I wouldn't want to tarnish this site with a pic of Beautiful Jersey City.

Good Luck~!

This scares me. I am ready to move to Maine too but the job market there is tough. I am willing to go to a customer service job (I am currently in insurance, senior level UWing). I havent started to look yet as my NJ home is just for sale now, but per this post I guess I better get started!

Good Luck Iluvmaine2!
