To answer your original question..have you thought of a profession..a Realtor.
They are in the businessof helping you sell the home you are in...get you a referral for a knowledgeable realtor in you desired destination..one who will gather as much info as possible , and help you by directing you in the in, and out of the area..
Point 2..the moving..the above mentioned , delivered container is really geting popular..and is great. I know quite a few folks that hav used them..short hauls, and long across country as well.
It might be an option to takea litlle holiday to recon the area you wish to move...if you and your realtor find a home , by chance that you love..A Predicated offer might do the trick if all parties agree.
I hope this helps..
Did I mention I am a Realtor
GOOD LUCK..HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL
KEN

I love that tool from microsoft virtual earth. It gives you an idea of locations. I also have heard that Penske is the best from numerous people. It's a pretty stressful thing making it all work but my husbands keeps saying SELL THE HOUSE FIRST but I can't help but feel a little overwhelmed!
