I suspect that the meat you had was not cleaned properly or quickly enough. There are things you need to do -- especially with a buck -- and other things that just in general need to be watched when you're cleaning any meat animal. Not to mention getting it done quickly!
I suspect that you are probably right about the cleaning. It was a thought that I had had as well.
A Goggle search of "House Stars" brought me to this Forum. Mrs. IRV and me just finished a Chicago - Latrobe, PA - Morgantown, WV- Huntington, WV- Lexington, KY- Evansville, IN, and back up to Chicago road trip. And these stars were every where!!! Then today as I drove into work I spied one here Elgin!!!
Do they mean anything????
Bye the bye.....Mrs. IRV is from Aurora, ME and we've traveled the great state of Maine many times over the last 30 years.

They mean you have absolutely no decorator's sense what-so-ever! I hold those stars with the same contempt as inside out tires painted white and used for planters, pink flamingoes, ceramic cats on the roof, scroll saw "bent over " ladies in the garden, garden gnomes, plastic deer, high "air mail " mailboxes, wishing wells and a myriad of other cutsey nonsensical yard decorations.
I've seen them in Pennsylvania, too, where I used to live and I've always liked them...have been wanting to get one for our home here in Maine, but don't know where to buy one...
To me, they have a very "homey", folksy kinda feel....

I'm just not into plastic crap cluttering up one's yard in an ill-conceived effort to beautify one's lot!
I left out plastic mushrooms, windmill action figures, bathtubs filled with geraniums, junk cars, engines on tri-pods, useless old boats, shopping cart teepees(yes there's one in Gray), bicycles hung in trees, scroll saw "cowboy" sillouettes, wire lobster traps in gardens, and other weird "Yaaaard AAAArt"

yup, I *do* know whatcha mean, although a few well-placed gnomes look pretty cool and kitchy in my opinion, especially if you've seen "The Full Monty"....
This has gone from single stars, through a mention of Penn Dutch hex signs and finally come all the way to tacky lawn ornaments.
