I got really tired of the door slamming thing......but you can't slam what you don't have....she went 2 weeks without a door on her room....she's never slammed it again
My 6 y.o. is already starting the door slamming thing! Ordinarily, she's the mildest mannered, quiet and loving child you've ever met. Make her mad, and she turns into her MOTHER! Never thought about removing the door. Great idea!

El, are you telling us that you're still a door slammer? Are we going to have to remove your door?
I used to put mine on phone restriction - bad news. I'd just cut her off from her life line. How would the world carry on? (this was before the day of cell phones for kids)
Go Molly! Sometimes Moms give in to their kids just to shut them up. I understand, a majority are overtired from work, many times they are raising them alone. But if you pick your battles, and REALLY stand by what you say, it seems you can actually get their attention. Kids are wonderful but they are WORK God Bless all of you currently raising children it's a tough job.
It's funny to me that so many of us are on here this morning! Just thought I could almost hear my mom saying "You should all be in church!" See her over there? She's the one standing there with her hands on her hips, pointing her little index finger!
hey, I've got one for you guys....remember the movie "Footloose"?.....yup, thought you would! Lori Singer, the blonde, yup....she turns 50 this year, Nov. 6......how is THAT possible??!! lol
LOL...maybe we should my daughter is almost 19 and we are well through with the "poopy head" years (in my humble opinion about 12-15 for girls and 16-18 for boys). Mine is back to being the wonderful person I knew from before.
When she was almost 16, she actually had a very intelligent statement of oinion and I looked at her and said "I'm so glad to have you back. Where have you been for the last 3 years?" Her response, " I guess I had just a really long brain fart. Sorry 'bout that." It was a beatiful thing for her to acknowledge and me to relize that I wasn't the biggest B in the whole world ( though she wouldn't dare have ever said this to my face) and I was truly on her side. Sigh... memories...
Love her response:" a really long brain fart!!"
