Default in the rain...

I drove to Rumford today to pick up a table, and on the way, traipsed through a cemetery in the rain and stopped at a couple of Churches. Wish pics did their subjects better justice...

Greetings 7th,

Ok, I just put it together. Saturday I was up your way. I've spent some time looking at the Maine photo thread from its start, and in a couple of your photos, I recognize places I passed in my travels. I thought perhaps your 'country' was DownEast.

Maine is a balm in general. I have seen little of the state inland in the years I've lived here, and the drive to Rumford Point on Saturday was transfixing - even in the rain. I made it across the bridge in Augusta (it took me two tries to make it through the first whirlygig/traffic circle), and I was in brand new territory.

The towns I passed through felt as if they were more antiquated than the coastal towns I'm accustomed to, and I liked that. Poverty, or perhaps utility, in the finest sense, is beautifully visible inland. And your fields and hills - no words to express the beauty there. I silently praise each and every photo you post - yet forgive me - not entirely for the thoughtful artistry and technical skill that is signature to your work; it is largely for your subjects. Seeing the fields and ponds, the lakes and hills kind of, well, guts me! Thank you for that. And just know that my thanks are there though I'm often silent.

I drove to Rumford Point to buy an oak pedestal table from Uncle Henry's. It was a happy transaction. And as I lost my glasses when I stopped to look at a Church in ?, I couldn't read the map on my way back; I turned left when I should've gone straight. But I like to believe everything happens for a reason. Because of being lost, I saw the fields and ponds, the lakes and hills. And autumn's glorious colors. Firsthand. Pretty cool.

Again, I praise you, and neither falsely nor to gain approval - simply to say thank you for your contributions to this forum.

Blessings, maureen

These are no 7th quality but here's a few from riding around today with my point and shoot Canon.

Just some leaves to consider on the second floor porch with car and bike below. I wonder how I'm gonna get them off? They're all wet. Will they dry out and fly away maybe?

Default My First Moose Sighting Ever !

On my way back from the post office I was heading up a slight hill and saw movement at the top. When I peaked the hill I saw this young guy in the field to my left

Got him to look at me by tapping my wedding ring on the top of the truck.

Then he went on his merry way

Hope I have many more
