My husband has an opportunity for a job change to Macon, GA from MA.

What is the area like? How are the schools? My children are in a private school now - small school. I would like to know how the school system is and what my options are for their education.

Thank you.

I do not have kids, but I know people who do and the public school system down here from understanding is horrible. Private schools are a big thing and just about everyone who can sends them to private schools. I am not sure how they are ranked in that regard but there are a lot to choose from. This area has a very high poverty rate and a very high crime rate. Do not live in the downtown area at all but live in the county or on the north side. People are very nice down here and welcoming.
