My family is moving down soon to Macon due to a job move. We are looking for recommendations on larger family friendly subdivisions. We have an 8 year old daughter. Our price range is $300-600k. Looking for a neighborhood with lots of families/kids and one that is active in the North Macon area. Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks.
Not really, go to realtor.com to check out the neighborhoods
I don't recommend residing to Macon to anyone tho, the Hartley Bridge area has nice homes, i would also check out Eatonton, GA homes on the lake or Lizella, GA area for new homes
Your best choices would be North Macon or somewhere in Houston County like Warner Robins, Perry, Bonaire, Kathleen or Byron in Peach County. I'm not certain if declinelocalname is very familiar with the area because Hartley Bridge Road cant hold a candle to North Macon. HBR is closer to undesirable neighborhoods than North Macon. Lizella is fine but you'd have a little drive to any real shopping centers or stores. Eatonton is almost 40 minutes away so I'm not certain why it was suggested.
Providence Subdivision in North Macon is large and family friendly. Its off Bass Rd and the homes range up to 600k. Very nice place with a communit swimming pool and I believe tennis courts. We have friends in that neighborhood and it seems really nice.
Also, Hartley Bridge Rd is a nice area as well, but you'll be hard pressed to find homes in that range. It is much more middle class with homes averaging in the $150's, although Ocala Plantation is very nice and still building out with homes reaching up to the $250k range. To the other point, I guess it is close to undesirable neighborhoods, if you consider that it is 1 exit and about 3 or 4 miles from Pio Nono/Houston Ave area, but a check of crime maps will show you that HBR has the least amount of crime in Bibb County.
