Hi I'm in my last year of highschool in Australia and am seriously considering moving to L.A and attending FIDM as i've always dreamed of a career in the fashion industry. I have family who live in the outer suburbs of L.A but im just wondering what would be my best options. If there are international students who attend or have attended FIDM it would be really helpful if you could give me some advice on the whole process?!!

Do you mean options on where to live? Or on career? If housing, there are a bunch of apartments downtown right by the FIDM campus. I think some of them may even have dedicated FIDM units, although I might be wrong about that.

FIDM students come from all over the USA and the world.

Quite a few live in downtown Los Angeles (where the campus is located) while others live in areas like West Hollywood, Miracle Mile, Pasadena, etc.

Living in the outer suburbs (depending on what you mean) would be a tough commute.

FIDM refuses to acknowledge it on their webpage, but the subway is about 3 blocks away. Maybe they get alot of money from student parking....?

And there are LOTS of FIDM people circulating down around the South Park district and the Fashion District as well. And I think uptown may be right about the dedicated units. There are plenty of apartments closeby.
