I am a pilot for a major US Airline and I work out of LAX.

I would like to know what the cheapest hotel is in the LAX area (~15 mile radius).

I do have my own transport so a shuttle is not necessary.

I don't mind dangerous areas.

Thanks in advance to all who answer!!

Harrier was under the impression that pilots for major U.S. airlines had their overnight stays arranged for and paid by their employers.

If Harrier is mistaken, please let him know.

Anyways, in a 15 mile radius, and not minding dangerous areas, you could always stay downtown at the Cecil Hotel.

Does Harrier alway refer to himself in the third person or is Harrier a group of people? Thanks for responding though!!

Anyways, the airlines do provide for overnight stays away from base. However, my base is LAX and I live in Phoenix, AZ. I could never afford to live in LA, therefore I commute to work. Whenever I stay overnight in base (LA), it is at my expense.

Thanks for the responses!

OK, that makes sense.

Thanks for the clarification.

Harrier only refers to himself in the third person on this forum.

Harrier is not a fan of the word "I".

Thanks. I was thinking more along the lines of 20-30 a night though.

Also, typing in the third person helps.

You'd probably get a better answer out of one of those booking sites than here. That is what i would do anyways.

Are major U.S. airlines paying their pilots so little that this is all that you can afford?

If that is the case then Harrier has a website to recommend.

You should be looking at hostels then. Bottom of the barrel motel 6 is even $60 in LA Proper these days.

skydude24 has found a few hotels that are averaging around $41 a night. skydude24 was hoping to get rooms that were even cheaper.

motel6 isn't bottom of the barrel. skydude24 thinks motel6 is midrange.

thanks for the suggestions though!

talking in the third person is the bomb!
