I found a place on Delaware Ave between 17th St and 18th St. Is that a good area? It's 1 block from Santa Monica College.

How safe is it in general. I have a lot of street smarts and I never walk alone when it's really late.

Santa Monica is very safe, but ironically you picked probably the least safe area in Santa Monica. But it's still very safe - stick to your street smarts and don't walk alone at night.

So basically the area around SMC isn't very safe?

Santa Monica is extremely safe. I mean, anything can happen anywhere, but I have never ever felt threatened or unsafe anywhere in Santa Monica. You're moving into one of the greatest areas. Enjoy it. =)

I wouldn't call Santa Monica "extremely" safe. It's safe, but everyone needs to use caution.

I was able to do a crime check on the exact area, and there is definitely crime there. I was thinking maybe there was less crime in the Santa Monica BLVD/ Wilshire BLVD area?

I have other options in West LA in the 90025 area right next to Stoner Park and a place right near UCLA, but living near the beach was a good option.

I'll actually most likely be doing security, and I'll be doing training to become an armed guard, so I would have a gun on me at times.

Yeah that's where I'm planning to go. Got a couple nice places in the 90025 area.

Stoner Park and right by UCLA are better, but really that part of Santa Monica isn't bad either. It's all relative. It's the "worst" part of santa monica but not really bad by anyone (sane) definition.
