Westwood and Westwood Village are mega-safe. You'll get a fabulous view of the Mormon Temple, its rare-for-L.A. spacious landscaped vista and its gigantic L.A. landmark statue the angel Moroni atop it.

Manning Ave. is a long residential street, and once was considered for a corridor feeder to U.C.L.A. Its wealthy inhabitants stopped same. The closer you get to U.C.L.A. the more restricted street parking becomes. Your area is near what was until fairly recently two separate boulevards, colloquially known as big and little Santa Monica. You're near transportation, Century City, a straightaway to the beach, and upscale communities which actually police crime. You're doing well!
