I love hipsters. I would love for them to invade my neck of the woods and drive home prices through the roof. #nevergonnahappen

We don't need no stinkin' hipsters in the South Bay, thank you very much! They can stay in Santa Monica and the like. And we do not feel 'isolated' because we're bereft of hipsters.

I know quite a few young professionals in Torrance and the beach cities. They don't necessarily need or want to leave for entertainment every time they're bored. Interestingly enough though, all the ones I know are native to southern california and say they chose the south bay because of complaints about other parts of the region where they lived (mostly that the culture they grew up with was still present here but not where they grew up). So in my completely unscientific opinion, the South Bay seems to be a time capsule of sorts, or maybe just a cleaned up remembrance of days gone by.
