Greetings from Horace Ball
I live in Queensland, Australia.

My wife and I together with our daughter and son migrated from England to Australia soon after WW2. I served in WW2 as a Lancaster pilot and Iris served in the WAAF as a RADAR mechanic/operater.

I have always had a high regard for 'Yanks' based on your willingness to face the enemy shoulder-to-shoulder with England and our allies in WW2. In fact your participation undoubtedly was the turning point towards victory. Those days seem so long ago!

At 7.40am today the temperature was close to 20 degrees C approximately 40 F. This is the first month of our spring. Later it climbed to 30 degrees C.

I have heard and read reports on the smog problem in Los Angeles. They vary to a high degree which is confusing.
I wonder if some kind person would send me a current report. In particular please indicate whether there has been any improvement or worsening during recent months.

By the way we share July 4 as our birthdays!

Best wishes from

Horace

Default Thank you

Greetings Charles,

Thanks a million or two.

Your reply has given me exactly what I need.

I live in Queensland. A person returned recently from LA and reported an improvement in air quality (a reduction in smog) since his previous trip.

I am finding places that have an improvement in air quality which I hope may then reveal why! I may be able to generalise for the benefit of other places.

Best wishes

Horace
