im thinking about moving to culver city from st. louis. i wanted to be close to the coast because of smog and heat. is culver city close enough to the ocean that the smog won't be that bad, or do i need to live closer. any other opionions/ thoughts on culver city are appreciated. thanks.

it's like 3 miles from the ocean. it's not a world of difference. if you're that picky about it -la probably isn't for you.

Why don't you just live in Santa Monica or Venice?

Why are you leaving St. Louis?

thank you for the response.

i am actually considering santa monica, but it seems to be pricier for an apartment. also, ive heard that culver city is a pretty cool place with a nice downtown. what do you think?

i am leaving st. louis to play poker at the LA casinos. that is what i do for a living. i will be playing in commerce and hollywood park.

culver city can be a little sketchy especially along sepulveda blvd. many rundown townhomes. not being racist, but if hispanics and their culture bother you in any way, stay away. venice is very fun. i suggest there

palms is a nice area. do you mean downtown venice or venice blvd. in downtown LA. if you mean in DT LA, i cant help you there. i don't know the area very well. i can tell you anything about the coastal cities (South Bay, West LA, LAX area especially)

btw...if you see pics of the coastal area and it clears unclear, it's not smog. we don't get it here. we get extremely heavy marine layers which are pretty much very dense fog. sometimes the visibility is less than 1/2 mile. but don't worry, it's not smog.
