Second the vote for Koreatown.

I had a (smaller) studio in the K-Town/Wilshire Center area that only ran me $650 a month, utilities included. It was quite a steal.

However, as previously mentioned, the walls were PAPER thin and it was a rather obnoxious place to live in general.

But for the price... Worth it.

Wow! I REALLY appreciate the responses. I'm gonna really look at K-town and East Hollywood. Hopefully my situation changes enough where we can afford something nicer, but as it stands, we don't have much at the moment, and it would probably be one hell of a humbling/learning experience
