I will be staying at the "Andaz West Hollywood" on Sunset Blvd between La Cienega Blvd and North Crescent Heights Blvd in Mid-April. I will be renting a car but this hotel charges $32 for valet parking. I am just wondering if there are public parking garages within a short walk away so I can avoid paying $32 to park.

i used a public lot on the strip a few years back to save on valet parking at saddle ranch (next door to the andaz, which is very cool hotel by the way, former riot hyatt) and had to walk 20+ minutes to get there, which i realized was a huge mistake at the end of the night. if you're spending the cash to stay at a nice hotel, you might as well just dish out for the valet parking. i'm not even sure west hollywood allows overnight parking in their public lots. and don't even bother with the side streets, evertything around there is permit parking only and the citation will be at least $50 for not having a permit.
