Where does Western Long Island end and Eastern Long Island start? (Middle Island: about, native)

You can't just divide it into "Western" and "Eastern"
Western ends at the 135, maybe a little west of that even.
Eastern probably starts in between the Sagtikos and Nicholls.
Yes, I can also see Rte 135 as sort of a divider.
I commuted back and forth between Queens and Suffolk for years and I definitely noticed there seems to be a transition zone in eastern Nassau. A little less crowded, more open space and newer houses. Maybe it is Rte 135 itself, as a 1960s expressway versus the parkways built in the 1930s, the SOB seems more suburban to me for some reason.
Another transition zone is simply crossing the county line from Nassau into Suffolk. Suffolk seems a little more laid back then Nassau to me, especially on the blue collar Suffolk South Shore.
At the Town Of Riverhead to the North and Town Of Southampton to the south.
That begins the true "East End".

Yeah I can see that, but this thread is not about the true East End. Or the West End for that matter, which is probably Brooklyn and Queens.
It is about Western Long Island and Eastern Long Island. While the Island does not have to be divided exactly 50/50, you cannot say that 80% of the Island is Western LI (or vice versa), that makes no sense.
