Reason: forgot web page
I miss my 80's club days. Right Track Inn in Freeport. McQuads in Rockville Center, Sparks, Spit ( I lived real close to it too!) Malibu..those were the days. I can hardly remember all the bars/clubs names anymore!
I think you mean Max and Renneiscence? They were pretty nice back then, plus there was another place called "Funky Times" also which was somewhere between Valley Stream and Lynbrook. I remember seeing a VERY YOUNG band there with an 18 year old female singer who wound up becoming Pat Benatar. Then there was Rat Race Choir, Twisted Sister, and who (besides me) remembers seeing Debra Harry doing Ambrosia and Beatles covers many many years before she became Blondie? Then there was Tequila night (usually on tuesdays at Funky Times). $2.00 admission, which included all the beer you could drink, and tequila at 25 cents a shot. Yes the beer was pisswater, but the tequila was so cheap that we'd all just dump a shot or 2 into our beer mugs. I also remember breaking a record at hammerheads for drinking 17 Long Island Iced Teas. After 6 the bartender just kept giving them to me for free (lol). I actually managed to drive home that night, stopping about every 1/2 mile to puke, and after that night I never touched another drink. (Swear To God). I quit drinking at 18 years old, and spent the next 40 years drinking 7ups. If I didn't stop drinking, I probably would have lost these memories many many years ago.
Never heard of Harry's, might have been either before or after my time.
