Lots of comments on Twitter from those who used the new station that the time from the tracks to the subway/outside is very long. MTA website says you need 10 minutes??? At Penn, if you know what car to stand in you can easily be on the subway platform in under 90 seconds after getting off the LIRR.
Riders who get off at the new terminal’s tracks 15 stories below ground must ride up three escalators — including an enormous one that spans 182 feet diagonally between the station’s mezzanine and concourse. From there, it’s a winding walk to the lower-level dining area of Grand Central Terminal, then up to the subway platforms.
The journey to the subways in Grand Central, which was timed by a Gothamist reporter on Wednesday, is hardly faster than a subway ride from Penn Station.
It took a Post reporter more than seven minutes to make the journey from the new LIRR platforms all the way to the 4/5/6 trains — and that was at a brisk pace and climbing up the escalators instead of just riding them.
The platforms are so deep, riders can hear the incessant PA announcements — announcing the station’s opening, safety warnings about standing away from platform edges, subway transfers, the date and time — echoing through the deep wells that hold the 182-feet long escalators, which riders take up to the main level.
Took the train from grand central today.
For a wonderful feeling, at last.
Full schedule will be up in few weeks.
Adios penn station and feces E train.
How was the ride upstairs from the LIRR platform to the street/subway if you take.
Lots of negative reviews on that and the lack of LIRR signage in the main hall.
I created a thread earlier but missed your post.
Cruella did NOTHING to make this happen.
Cuomo ok, but where is the money coming from to pay for all this.....
I'm sorry, but I need to interrupt you guys one second.
This comment. This idiotic comment.
When a politician actually gets something done and a low life comes up with this attitude of supperiority for, maybe, contributing with $0.0000001 to such project.
Let's all recognize these negative attitudes and try to do something about them. Cause honestly I'm sick about people complaining and not doing any good for society.

End of rant.
So you're basically describing yourself....
Again what did Cruella do for this project... NOTHING... NADA. ZILCH...

Are there elevators to back up the escalators? Can you imagine the yearly maintenance costs of these things? Ka Ching! And now you have to factor in another 10 minutes to the street/train?
Thinking of taking a ride in next week for the laughs
