Slomins and General were THE worst.
God I hated them both. Total scumbags.
I kept going with Petro because they were the lesser of the evils and a close friend of mine was a tech so I would ask that they send him for any service.
Now I’m COD. Not signing with anyone this season.
And, I have this wood stove so it’s been 70 in my house.
My heat barely turns on.

Aren't a lot of the companies actually owned by one parent company?

Been with the part of General that used to be Blue Flame for years. They come out for service when needed, and they're not the lowest but not the highest for oil.

I have a spot delivery coming in the morning, 200 gallons at $2.039; a local independent guy gets $160 a year for a service contract which includes a cleaning and tune-up. I shudder every time I see a Petro truck at the neighbor's house.

And btw...some of the companies instruct their techs to tune the equipment a little on the rich side to burn more oil. Fact.

Nowadays, Petro owns a good portion of the companies on LI. 12 years ago the companies were still independent. I believe that Frank Bros. in Bayshore is still Mom & Pop as is Sweezy.

Somebody allowed their fixed contract to expire with Slomins. I'm sure they love it when that happens. Or they are on a dumb variable plan which is super dumb, dumb, dumb.

I’ll stick to my COD W/auto-delivery & Service contract.
