COD here. Along with an annual service contract for $225
I’ll “dollar cost average “ my oil deliveries. I can’t see locking in a rate (usually higher than the present daily rate). A friend who has the same oil co. paid .50 more per gallon to “lock in”
Last year. Times that by 200 gallons per delivery. No thanks!

Can anyone recommend someone to do an annual checkup/clean of my oil furnace? Last time I did it around October and costed like $130. Told me it'll be cheaper in the summer. Like 70-80. Might just use the same guy

Pidge, what price was Meenan able to offer you as an existing customer?

@ubering, I asked the installer of our new system how much he charges for an annual clean/tuneup and he said $150. Don't know if he offers an actual maintenance contract but I plan to ask. I don't trust the hacks at the local oil companies to work on a boiler brand they probably have never seen.

Not good.

Meenan’s offer was a cap of $3.23 or a ceiling of $3.75 with current delivery at $2.99. They graciously threw in a service contract to ‘sweeten’ the deal....

Obviously I looked elsewhere. I was able to get a ceiling of $2.94 with Swezeys with a free service contract.

Wow, that Meenan price is nuts. No way will I sign for that much.

I will check with Swezey's for sure. Maybe they will be able to go down a little because I don't want the service contract, lol

If your heating equipment is fairly new and stable and service contract isn't that important, try Slomins. I find they give the lowest rate to new customers. Look for a Slomins Kiosk at the malls. If a good service contract is required, try Petro. Meenan and Petro are sister companies, so they won't discuss pricing unless your current contract with Meenan has been cancelled.

Holy Smokes! Not looking forward to my annual Meenan call.

May have to call Sweezey.
