If you are looking for 80s nu wave music than there is a club on the corner of Jericho Trpke. and Mineola Blvd. in Mineola. I forget the name of the building, but on Saturday nights its called Abstraction!. Saturday from 10pm-4am (nice to know there are still clubs open till 4am) they play electro, nuwave, industrial, ebm, synthpop, dark and postpunk music. Don't know if this is what you are looking for, but I hope it helps. I give this club 3 stars. the address is: 267 Mineola Blvd. Mineola, NY. there is a number you can call for info.: 516-874-2751. Good luck!

Ahhhhh yes! Spent many nights at Sundance! And I'm not even from LI (my girlfriend was).

Anyone who lived in the club scene in the 70's and 80's obviously remembers Rat Race Choir. For over a decade they were thee Bar Band on the Island!

Anyone remember John Anthony's in Babylon (on the water), and the 52nd Bomber Squadron near Fairchild in Farmingdale?

How about Whisper's Lounge in the Sheraton on Motor Parkway/Moreland Drive in Commack, or PJ's in Patchogue? Chevy's on Sunrise Highway in Deer Park?

Am I showing my age?...LOL!!

Are these places still there?

I used to park cars there in the mid 80's.

52nd Fighter Group is still there. I'm not sure about the nightlife, but they do a big business on lunch/dinner as well as a quite sizeable sunday brunch. The 110 corridor is still pretty big with nightlife, you have 52nd, the Crazy Donkey, Cyberia, and a few others... Four Food Studio is the biggie now (from what I recall, I really don't head out that way too often), but that is a bit ways north on 110.

I believe John Anthony's is still there... it was a few years back when I was down that way last. I think it's a catering hall now though?

Are you talking about what used to be called Chunky's? (I'm not sure if that is still the name of the club or not).

FYI, I believe they still do an 80s new wave night at Molly Bloom's II in Amityville... corner of 110 and Montauk Highway. I think it's called Subculture?

Eeew I remember Cooch. My friend did the "you know what" with him. Yuck!!! He was Dee Snider's assistant. My husband was friends with him. I personally thought he was a putz. He thought he was God's gift and I had to laugh. I knew "of" him but thought he was too arrogant.

He also DJ'd at a VERY short lived club called the Continental (it was on Main St in Bayshore). He was there when my husband's band played. The band was called Dyrect Hitt and then changed to Sideshow Virus. After that, hubby was in a band with the old lead singer (JC) from Dorian Grey nee Sweet Revenge.

Ahhhh the good ole days!!!
