Plant some shrubs or a tree between your house and the wire

You are stuck. Was it there when you purchased the home in September or are you just noticing it now? Won't change anything but wondering if it was on the survey or not or if it were a new pole placed after the storm.

I noticed it some time in January, I think it might of been there before the storm, but I never really saw it.

LIPA agreed to come talk to me some time next week and explain to me why this cant be moved anywhere else.... Not that it might help me, but at least I`ll know why I have to keep this on my lawn...

Probably a right angle pole. They need guy wires to keep them up.

The way he explain it, it kind of makes sense why they cant move it, but should that be my problem ? Cant they figure out a way to move it.... Are they allowed to have this on my property ?
The fact that you don't see the contradiction in what you wrote there is a bit disconcerting.

Maybe you'd be better off getting rid of the pole as well as the power to your own home.

NIMBYism at its finest. "I want to enjoy the benefits of electricity but I don't want to help the maintenance and architecture of the electrical grid by having a massive 6" anchor on my property"

Could be worse. It could be this on your lawn.
