Nothing. Sabreny.com has no active activity listed on their press releases about this property other than they have a many "big box" properties on Long Island and little interest because of economy.
How long will Rite Aid last is the big question.
I just heard the King Kullen is closing in Bay Shore and moving to where Waldbaums was in E. Islip
That would be great but the store would need a major upgrade. The place is stuck in the 1960's. Heck...the checkers used to add up my bill using a pencil and a paperbag.

I am willing to bet the East Islip Waldbaums was last updated when Hills and Food Fair opened in Bay Shore.
Ok a little before my time out here, we did have a Hills in Valley Stream where I grow up that did turn into a King Kullen. Either way a new store will be a upgrade for both stores.
The property where the King Kullen in Bayshore is located at the Intersection of Saxon Ave and Main St is being bought/leased by Southside Hospital (North Shore LIJ) and will be converted into some sort of medical services facility to support the hospital.
The King Kullen will be moving to the old Waldbaum's store in East Islip on Easat Main St.
To those that have said the old Waldbaum's needed upgrading, I agree. That shopping center was built around 1967 or 1968 so hopefully an upgrade will be forthcoming.
The funny thhing is that this will be the second time that there will be a King Kullen in East Islip. The first time was back in the 60's and early 70's when there was a King Kullen on East Main St on the South side between Pequot La. and Yuma La.
Yup, that's correct! Right where the Chapey's funeral home is........in fact the location in the building where their 'preparation' area is was exactly where all the refrigeration equipment was back when it was a grocery store.
