What exactly do you mean by salvage? Stuff that fell off the truck? Survived a flood? Surplus from the supermarkets?

Almost every store has a scratch and dent section, is that what you are looking for?

Back in Phoenix we had this place below. This is what a salvage grocery store is (to the above posters):

Grocery Outlet - About Grocery Outlet - Company Overview

I moved to Reno and they also had them there. I was horrified they have none of them here as they do save you a lot of money. To answer your question, I have never found any salvage grocery stores in the Las Vegas area.

Here's a good explanation:

What Is A Salvage Grocery Store? (http://ezinearticles.com/?What-Is-A-Salvage-Grocery-Store?&id=712034 - broken link)

According to this article, they don't list any in Las Vegas but that doesn't necessarily mean that there isn't one:

Thanks for that link rocco, the only store here in Las Vegas that comes to mind is Food for Less, which carries a lot of the Kroger/Smiths stuff and leftovers.

Don't think it's considered a "salvage" store though. Interesting...

You were right on Kalbo

I don't believe I've ever seen a store like that here in town.

No, Food 4 Less is not comparable at all to Grocery Outlet. You literally could get wine for a $1 a bottle at Grocery Outlet. There obviously is no consistency since everything is a closeout but I was able to buy groceries there and eat for $10 a week back in Phoenix or Reno. Try that at Food 4 Less.

That isn't going to happen at Food 4 Less for sure. Or any grocery store here in Las Vegas for that matter!

A salvage grocery store sounds interesting, I'd love to go in one!

I agree. I wonder why they are in Phoenix and Reno, but not Vegas. There has to be some reason for that.
