Searched for this topic with no luck, what you guys think about current homebuilders? Who should we stay away from? Should we be too concerned about the builder on a used home? Thanks in advance.

As far as the best, I know for sure it aint HBR...although I don't have a lot of complaints.

I'd like to hear that too, especially from the realtors on here.

I'm looking into KB, Rylan, Meritage, Lennar - all in the Providence area. I don't know the good, the bad or the ugly about any of them.

Thoughts?

I been hearing bad things on Lennar. You did not name Pardee who I hear good things on around Providence. Beazer as well.

Do not hate on KB Homes please. Thank you.

If you have the money, try Pulte or Toll Brothers. If not, Meritage and KB Homes are both acceptable homebuilders. Harmony Homes isn't bad either, and they are local.

I would stay away from Lennar, and Ryland homes is hit or miss.

apparently you don't know that the ftc and multiple state gov'ts are investigating kb homes for selling tactics, home quality of workmanship, and pollution standards... google it.

KB Homes....formerly Kaufman and Broad in NJ....I bought one of their homes a number of years ago....they stalled and stalled and stalled on the laon approval...finally we told them....if we don't move in we're going to loose the person that going to lease our home....they said...ok move in and make the mortgage payment as rent until the loan is approved....probably 2 months or more [has already been 5 months]

We moved in....next day I called KB...told em... we gotta problem....I just gave notice and Friday is my last day so we can't qualify for this loan....they called me back 15 minutes later...said "Loan is approved, we close tomorrow."

You cannot spell honesty using KB.
