Sounds like SV is the place to be. Feels like I am missing out. Hmmmmm...I think I will need a realtor soon.

I've owned a condo in Spring Valley since 89 and have been in Las Vegas since 1970. Spring Valley is quite, established, mature landscaping, good schools, and centrally located. A lot of families with kids and there's always a baseball game, soccer practice, tennis, because of the parks and schools around. In other words people young and old out and about walking their dogs and riding their bikes why they can because the weather's been gorgeous. Also, most everyone around has a J.O.B.Can't say that about every hood that's out there. It's very affordable, if your looking to buy. The biggest advantage of living here is I never had to jump on a freeway to go to work.(the $trip) There's shopping galore and all kinds of markets, Asian, Mexican, International, you get the idea. I didn't catch where your moving from but be prepared for hot and I mean hot summers here.I would suggest buying oscillating fans for your place because your body's not ready yet. It can interfere w/ sleeping and running your power all season's gonna cost you a lot. Also have your cars serviced. Have them check all your fluid levels, air conditioning, and tire pressure.Trust me, the pavement is hot enough to fry an egg on it and your steering wheel, if left out exposed, well, I would have to have an oven mitt in my car in order to drive it.

We are thinking of relocating to the Spring Valley area. Most articles I've read show a rather large density of Asian culture. I have nothing against Asians (especially since I'm married to one!) but I also don't want to live in a china town! Can you fill me in and also what about the crime rate? I know there is crime everywhere but is it safe there? I am white in my 60's and retired. Is there an area in Spring Valley that we should be more inclined to look at? Thank you so much for your advice. Look forward to your response.

Starting from the 15 all the way to Rainbow, Spring Mountain DR is a street where many Asian businesses are.

The eastern part of Spring Valley (the older part) is near and dear to my heart. It is very conveniently located.

That said, it is also the only place in the valley where I've been a crime victim in 30+ years here, except for inconvenient car riflings.

The further away from the strip, the better. Parts of Spring Valley are great and I'd take them over Summerlin in a minute.

I would have to agree, Spring Valley over Summerlin. Of course I am biased!

Is the area south of Flamingo (centered on Tropicana) and West of the 215 considered Spring Valley?
