CC is so tacky, run down and very, very depressing. I went in there to gamble with a friend about 10 yrs. ago and we became so emotionally involved with the clientele, we were almost crying when we left. Almost totally filled with very young couples, usually one or two kids in a stroller, all dressed pretty natty, swigging bottles of beer and standing knee deep in the cash advance credit card lines. Usually the wife is crying, along with the kids, and screaming at her young husband about losing all the money they needed to pay the rent while he is trying to get more out of the advance machine. It is not a festive, fun environment but one that is very demoralizing. If I'm not mistaken, instead of the pool being some high end environment with great music and palm trees and waitresses and a bar and restaurant for your comfort, at CC you walk behind the hotel and enter a fenced in barren area back by camper village. Ending the day and beginning the day in that environment can take all the wind out of ones sails.

I wouldn't stay there but I think it is worth visiting. jameson doesn't sound like he had fun but I think it can be a pretty entertaining place. They have very low table minimums as well, you can feel like a high roller betting $10/hand. They also have one of the best steakhouses in LV hidden in the middle of that dump.

Also the Hostile Grape at the M is awesome too if you like wine..... IMO (not because i work at the M), Best Italian Restaurant...in Vegas that I have been to is Marinellis at the M.

The M is also one of the few casinos that have Coke products. Not a big deal, but I don't like Pepsi products.

@Kev

Squeeze in the Springs Preserve on your visit, desert gardens, galleries, wildlife exhibits, worth an afternoon visit if you feel like getting away from the Strip. Too bad Nevada State Museum is still not open but it is also in the area. I agree with Valley of Fire, don't miss it. A beautiful State Park in Las Vegas, definitely lots of photo ops and trails.

Out of curiosity, I just got back from spending three days there. Drive out to Snow Canyon to the Ledges and you won't leave there without putting down a deposit on house there. It puts many of our richer areas of Las Vegas to shame! I had no idea there was that much money up there!

I stayed downtown near Ancestor Square, Main/St. George Blvd.

I always thought if I leave Las Vegas and stay in the SW, I'd head for Tucson. But given St. George has a near-identical climate to Las Vegas, I've now added this city to my list.

Can't wait to go back! A sharp contrast to Las Vegas. State-owned liquor stores only open from 11am to 7pm. No neighborhood bars, but oh so refreshing!

A surprising addition to your list.

I know you get what you pay for but I am looking for clean, not to noisy, safe and a pool. If anybody knows of a better deal, I am open to changes.
exactly.... As long as the bed is clean go for it.
