I will be coming up from Costa Rica with my wife to begin looking at Las Vegas the first week of May. I have some job interviews set up and if everything works out I plan a permanant move in July. I am interested in finding a 2 or 3 br apartment for my 7 yr old son, wife and I in either Summerlin or Henderson in the 800 to 1000 range. It would be for a year lease and I would probably pay 6 months advance. I am intersted in an apartment for the first year because I will be moving up with basically our clothes and some personal items. We are not sure if the move will be permanate so we won't sell or ship our stuff up until after the first year. Any suggestions on apartments or who to contact when we are up there will be greatly appreciated. We will be staying on the strip, will have a car and about 6 days to look. Thanks

Truth is George I'd contact a realtor to show you some condos for rent by owners. Plenty of inventory and saves you a lot of hassle as they can line up some showings. Plus apartments may not be as accommodating if you don't get a job offer before you sign a lease. Also note if you do go to an apartment, most places work on 6 month leases in Vegas and then go month to month.

Take a look at rancho ocasso apartments. I got a 3 month lease when I came out here. Their rates are very competitive and in a reasonably good neighborhood.
