I actually find it less safe to cross streets on the crosswalks at intersections. It's asking to get run over by someone running a red light. If I don't feel great about walking across the street I'm sure as hell not riding something down the street that's overshadowed by giant suv's and buses only to get sideswiped by someone who HAS to swerve around me in a desperate attempt to save 5 seconds on their home commute.

Has anyone ever used a moped for transportation in LV? How did you keep it from getting stolen? From what I understand as long as it's 50ccs or under I don't have to get a special license-right?

Any other tips would be greatly appreciated!
Ride a skateboard and just hold on to the back of some taxis. LOL

Cars are already required to be registered but yet it seems at least 1 in 10 vehicles driving around out here are missing plates/far expired or living here with out of state plates.

Feel free to participate in the Constable's dirty snitch program. You can get out of town platers (been here for more than 60 days) fined $1k per vehicle.

The Las Vegas Township Constable has activated the Fair Share Hotline, (702) 455-FAIR (3247) to receive reports from the public about residents who continue to drive with out-of-state plates. The hotline operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Reports to the hotline will be investigated by Las Vegas Township Constable deputies to determine whether vehicle owners are violating the law. Submit a report.
I paid to register both my vehicles when I moved here, but there is something to be said about the character of a snitch.

Nah I don't go around snitching. You never truly know what someone's economic situation is. I too would let me registration slide if it came between that and food. Not to mention it would come back around to me at some point. Especially if it was my neighbor.
